Books: Gates of Thread and Stone

I love this opening to Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee. In fact, I love the whole opening chapter: there’s great writing, action, magic, and some interesting world-building. I wasn’t expecting much from the novel given the mixed ratings that I’ve seen before, but the first chapter made me excited. Unfortunately, the rest of the novel didn’t quite follow suit, and had its ups and downs, leaving me with mixed feelings in the end.  Continue reading
